John Skinner

1840–1903

Coachman. From Godstone, Surrey; lived with his parents in Cudham, close to Down, in 1861. Employed at Down from 1866, and after CD’s death by Emma Darwin. Married Helen Nightingale at Chelsfield, Kent, in 1867. Lived in Cambridge after Emma moved there for the winters.
