Alexander McKenzie
1829–93
Scottish landscape gardener and land surveyor. Moved to London in 1851. Employed at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; superintendent of Alexandra Palace and Park, 1863; later superintendent of open spaces for the Metropolitan Board of Works; also took on private landscape design work. Superintendent of Epping Forest, 1879–93.
