Harry James (Harry) Veitch
1840–1924
Nurseryman. Second son of James Veitch (1815–69). Joined the Chelsea branch of the Veitch firm of nurserymen in 1858 or 1859; sole director by 1870. Hired plant collectors to source orchids and encouraged the development of new hybrids. Knighted, 1912.
