William Cox Bennett
1820–95
Journalist and author. Brother of John Bennett. Worked in the family watchmaking business. Staff writer for the Weekly Dispatch, 1869–70; editor of the Lark, 1883–4. Member of the London council of the Education League. His works included Prometheus the fire-giver (1877), and Songs for sailors (1878).
