Marianne Thornton
1797–1887
Daughter of Henry Thornton, a member of the so-called ‘Clapham Sect’ of evangelicals, and his wife Marianne Sykes. Friend of the Darwins; resided in Clapham from 1855. Great-aunt of E. M. Forster.
