Donald Dalrymple

1814–73

Surgeon and politician. Senior surgeon at the Hospital for Sick Children; proprietor and surgeon of the Heigham Retreat Lunatic Asylum. Retired from the profession in 1862. Magistrate and deputy lieutenant for Norfolk. Liberal MP for Bath from 1868. A local secretary of the British Association for the Advancement of Science meeting at Norwich in 1868.
