William Fraser Rae

1835–1905

Scottish-born author and journalist. Called to the bar, 1861, but took up journalism instead. Edited the Reader, 1863–4. Special correspondent in Canada and the United States for the Daily News; in later life wrote mainly on eighteenth-century English political history.
